Introduction

It is interesting to note that the latest smoking gadget is not actually designed to make any smoke at all; these new and elegantly designed machines are designed to vaporize the medium which you are used to smoking into a form of vapor.  The fact that these devices completely eliminate the need for combustion to operate makes them much safer and cleaner than using traditional smoking devices which will burn the medium in order to release the chemicals a smoker needs.  These give all the positive attributes of smoking to the smoker while removing any undesirable traits that bystanders have grown to hate.

Types of Vaporizers

There are two major types of vaporizers both having their own positive and negative attributes.  Flame driven units are the cheaper and latest smoking gadget on the market making a comeback after many years of electrical units being on the market.  Electrical units are usually much more expensive than flame driven units and are not usually as portable.

Flame Driven

The first type of vaporizer is the flame driven unit; these devices have a heating element usually made of a heat absorbent metal or ceramic which is what provides the heat to vaporize the material desired.  Flame driven vaporizers often look like normal pipes and are used in a similar fashion, but when used correctly they produce a fine vapor which is much healthier than actual combusted smoke.  Flame driven vaporizers require a certain affinity and some practice for them to operate correctly, if one applies a flame to it for too long it will overheat the material which will simply burn defeating the purpose of the device.  This ultra portable design does not need batteries and is one of the latest smoking gadgets on the market.

Electronic

Electronic devices are far more precise at controlling the temperature of the heat applied and can be calibrated accordingly to the material one wishes to smoke.  These devices utilize heating elements which are either plugged into an AC outlet or are portable with a battery.  The only major downside to using an electric vaporizer is the need of a power source, plugged units are often large and not portable, whereas smaller portable units only have a limited run time after which the batteries need to be changed out or the unit must be charged.  The latest smoking gadget, the vaporizer should be considered by every smoker as it eliminates the obvious health risk of consuming burning plant matter.
